Lorelle Lundeberg Schiewetz | Obituary

April 12, 1925- July 2, 2024

Lorelle Lundeberg Schiewetz, affectionately known as Lori, passed away July 2, 2024, at her home in Auburn, WA, at the age of 99. Lori was born April 12, 1925, to the late Edgar and Olga Lundeberg in Hartford, CT. The second of seven children, she graduated from high school at 16 years old, received her B.A. in Business from Simmons College in Boston, MA.

Lori met her husband Tom in Boston while he was completing his MBA at Harvard. They married on June 18, 1949, then moved to Kettering, OH. Tom’s career took them to Fayetteville, AR, for seven years before returning to Kettering, where they were active in the Lutheran Church of Our Savior. In 1990, Lori and Tom moved to Federal Way, WA, to be closer to family.

Lori devoted herself to being a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She prided herself on attending nearly all family events across the country. In addition to helping and visiting her grandchildren, Lori loved dancing, reading romance novels, and walking. Lori maintained connections with many friends throughout the years. Her cheerfulness, warmth, bright smile and kindness left a lasting impression on all she met.

Lori is deeply missed by many, including her son Kenneth (Kim) Schiewetz of WA; daughters Janet (Tom) Grenslitt of CA and Diane Scott of CO; grandchildren Katie (Drew) Worthington, Karen Schiewetz, and Karly (Jacob) Jeffreys of WA; Kurt Schiewetz of Thailand; Tyler (Katie) Grenslitt of MO; and Winston (Jenny) Mosley of TX; sister Marjorie (Roger) Loucks of CT and many nieces and nephews. Lori was thrilled to have met her first great-grandchild, Lark Worthington. Lori was preceded in death by her husband Thomas; her five brothers: and grandson Spencer Mosley.

Lori was a dedicated member of Marine View Presbyterian Church, 8469 East Side Dr NE, Tacoma, WA, where her life and faith will be celebrated at a service on October 19, 2024, at 2:00 pm.
