There were no vehicle thefts, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.
Stolen handgun: At 9 a.m. at 31910 Gateway Center Blvd., officers were dispatched to a local hotel to report a theft from a vehicle. The reporting party stated their front window had been broken and an Italian leather bag and 9mm handgun were stolen.
Juvenile rivalry: At 5:30 p.m. in the 2200 block of S. Star Lake Road, a juvenile rivalry came to a head. One of the male’s mothers grabbed the other child by the face and neck in an alleged attempt to break up the confrontation. Both juveniles’ mothers had a conversation and agreed to keep their sons away from each other.
Officer poked by needle: At 5:30 p.m. at 1901 S. 324th St., officers attempted to arrest a man for trespassing. During the attempt to apprehend the man, he resisted and had to be taken down to the ground. During the incident, a needle came out of the male’s bag and possibly poked the officer. The officer was treated as a precaution. The suspect was transported to St. Francis Hospital for self-inflicted bite marks, then booked into jail.
July 3
There were three vehicle thefts, and two vehicles were recovered on this day.
Driver punched: At roughly 3:30 p.m. in the 1200 block of South 336th Street, officers were dispatched to the Kitts Corner Apartments. The victim, a Lyft driver, was punched in the face for not wanting to carry more passengers than his vehicle could occupy.
July 4
There was one vehicle theft, and two vehicles were recovered on this day.
Concealed in his anus: Around 11 a.m. in the 34000 block of Hoyt Road SW, police responded to a shoplifting. The male shoplifter was detained and stated he swallowed the stolen item after concealing it inside his anus. He was arrested, but denied booking into jail because he needed to be medically cleared at a hospital first.
Shoplifter throws a knife: Around 1 p.m. in the 28000 block of Military Road South, officers responded to a shoplift with a knife. The officers stated the shoplifter had thrown a knife at the reporting party, then fled on foot.
July 5
There were three vehicle thefts, and two vehicles were recovered on this day.
Armed robbery: Around midnight in the 35000 block of 16th Avenue South, officers responded to a call of armed robbery. The victim called and stated a suspect entered their residence, then robbed them at gunpoint.
Brick backfire: At 1:30 a.m. on South 304th Street, officers were advised of a female who had thrown a brick through a window attempting to get into the location. When police arrived, the female was bleeding on the front of the house and screaming.
Venmo fraud: At 8 a.m. in the 1900 block of SW Campus Drive, officers received a fraud report. The victim stated he and his wife responded to a Facebook ad about renting a home. The suspect sent the victim paperwork to complete and the two addresses to view. Upon completion of the paperwork, the victim sent $1,150 via Venmo to the suspect who immediately stopped responding. Victims tried stopping the payment, but it was too late.
Domestic violence: At 1:30 p.m. on 21st Avenue SW, officers were dispatched to stop a physical domestic violence attack in progress between two adults. The victim reported the suspect attempted to hit her in the head with a hard water bottle. The victim was able to lock herself and her children in her bedroom, but she feared she would have been assaulted if she had not done so. She called 911 and was not injured.
Escaped felon: Around 2 p.m. in the 30800 block of Pacific Highway South, an officer contacted an arrested person who was using drugs inside a vehicle. It was discovered that the arrested had an unconfirmed felony warrant out of Olympia for escaping community custody and for assault with a deadly weapon. The arrested was detained with double locked and properly fitted handcuffs.
July 6
There were no vehicle thefts, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.
Residential fire: Around 1 a.m. at in the 800 block of SW 312th Street, officers were dispatched to handle a large residential fire. Upon arrival, the east side of the residence was engulfed in flames. Firefighters arrived on the scene and extinguished the fire.
Vodka bottle assault: At 2:21 a.m., officers arrived in the 300 block of 14th Avenue SW to stop a fight in progress. The officers immediately found a male bleeding from his face. Officers contacted the victim’s daughter, who said her father was in a fight with two females. At some point, a vodka bottle was broken and struck the male’s face.
Firearms stolen: At roughly 9 a.m. on Pacific Highway South, officers responded to commercial burglary report. The theft centered on four stolen firearms.
Assault over infidelity: At 2 p.m. in the 2400 block of South Star Lake Road, officers received a report over two females pushing and hitting each other. Upon arrival, officers spoke to one of the women in the fight who said that she caught the other woman performing oral sex with her boyfriend and caught it on camera.
July 7
There was one vehicle theft, and two vehicles were recovered on this day.
Firearm theft: At around 1:15 a.m. in the 32100 block of 25th Avenue South, officers received a report of a stolen firearm. The owner of the firearm reported his car was parked, but when he returned, the car was damaged and his firearm was missing. There are no suspects, no video evidence, and all leads have been exhausted.
Dog attacks pregnant woman: At around 4:45 a.m. in the 2100 block of SW 352nd Street, officers received report of a victim bitten by a dog. The victim is pregnant and claimed a large black dog attacked her, injuring her hands, left leg and chin. The victim was transported to St. Francis Hospital for care.
Firearm shooting: Between 3 and 6 a.m. at 1201 S. 336th St., police were dispatched to intervene in a fight between an adult male, adult female and juvenile man. The adult man was shot and quickly treated and transported by medics.
Hit and run: At 7 p.m. at 20th Avenue South and South 312th Street, officers responded to a vehicle hitting a pedestrian. The vehicle fled the scene prior to police arrival. The victim received injuries and was transported to St. Francis Hospital.
Reckless burning: Around 10:30 p.m. at 31014 Pacific Hwy. S., police responded to a fire that had been started by a male at the convenience store. The fire was extinguished with assistance from the fire department and the male was booked into Score jail.
Hammer assault: At roughly 11:30 p.m. in the 200 block of SW 319th Lane, officers were dispatched to a report of a female smashing vehicle windows with a hammer. Before arrival, the woman ran out the backdoor, and due to time delay, the K9 track was not initiated.
