I’m Hooked Fishing Event: From 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 4, head to Steel Lake Park to spend the day outdoors (rain or shine)

Soulful Serenity Sundays: From 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 28, join the Trap Lab for their Meditation and Mimosas event. Embody the beauty and power within yourself. This soulful serenity event comes with a full guided meditation by instructor Tawanna. The Trap Lab is located at 1646 SW Dash Point Road, Suite A, Federal Way.

I’m Hooked Fishing Event: From 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 4, head to Steel Lake Park to spend the day outdoors (rain or shine), engage in angler education, fishing and health and wellness activities in partnership with the Federal Way Parks Department and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. This is a rain or shine event. Dress in layers and dress for the weather. Community mentors will help guide your child and family in the art of fishing, nature, health and wellness.

Clothing swap: Get rid of your adult seasonally appropriate spring/summer clothing, accessories and shoes via dropoff between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Saturday, or Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. leading up to the clothing swap at the South King Tool Library in Federal Way. All items must be donated by May 3. To pick up some new clothing, head to the tool library location between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 4 and pick up some new additions to your wardrobe for free at 1700 S. 340th Place, Federal Way.

Flapjacks at Jimmy Mac’s Fundraiser: From 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. May 4, order some pancakes to benefit the Federal Way Lions’ Make Music event as well as their Sight and Hearing Program.

Touch-A-Truck 10 Year Anniversary Celebration: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Wild Waves Theme and Water Park. This free event is back and bigger than ever. Gather your children and make your way to the Wild Waves parking lot, where you can experience the thrill of getting up close and personal with an impressive array of service trucks of all shapes and sizes.

Historic cabins open for visitors: Between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. May 11, head over to entrance to the Hylebos Wetlands at 411 S. 348th St. to gain access to the historic Barker and Denny cabins via the Federal Way Historical Society. The buildings have historic artifacts relevant to the time period in which they were used and represent and important part of local history.

Senior Health and Resource Fair: Meet vendors and access resources available in the senior community from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 16 at the Federal Way Performing Arts and Event Center (PAEC), 31510 Pete von Reichbauer Way South in Federal Way.

3rd Annual Island Bowl: Join Federal Way Warriors Athletics on May 25 for a Rugby event at 33914 19th Avenue Southwest in Federal Way. Those interested in representing Washington this year for the high school boys and girls side can reach out now to fwwarriorsathletics@gmail.com.

Free Tai Chi, Qigong and mindfulness event: Join the Pacific Bonsai Museum for this free event with the opportunity to connect with community through mindfulness practices. From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. April 27 at the Pacific Bonsai Museum, located at 2515 South 336th Street in Federal Way.

Arts Explosion Festival: The Arts Explosion Festival is back for round two this year with an extended event schedule and new features.
