Vehicles stolen from home: Two vehicles were stolen around 1:30 a.m. from a garage of a home while the owners of the vehicles were sleeping. A neighbor called to report a suspicious circumstance after noticing that the victims’ garage door and main door were open, and the vehicles were gone.
Attempted carjacking: Officers responded to a carjacking at approximately 11:50 a.m. near the 28800 block of Military Road South. The victim left the scene and fled in her vehicle, but suffered minor head injuries. The suspect fled on foot.
Storage unit burglary: Police responded to a burglary at approximately 4 p.m. at a storage unit facility near the 29800 block of Pacific Highway South. Due to the high number of burglaries there recently, officers have contacted the corporate office of the facility’s owners. A change in ownership occurred less than two months ago.
March 7
There was at least 1 report of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 4 vehicles were recovered.
Virgin Mary statue stolen: At approximately 4:38 p.m., an individual wearing a mask stole a 3-foot-tall concrete statue of the Virgin Mary. The suspect can be seen on video backing a white truck into the driveway and loading the statue into it. The statue is valued at approximately $5,000. Officers attempted to reach the registered owners of the vehicle involved, but were unable to.
March 8
There were at least 4 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 3 vehicles were recovered.
Threat with knife: A threat with a knife was reported at a store in a gas station near the 1200 block of South 320th Street. A witness followed the male outside, and police stopped the suspect as he was driving away and arrested him.
Residential burglary: A victim was notified via Ring app that his front door was open at approximately 6:55 p.m. He returned home and found that suspects had broken the back door window and entered his home, eventually leaving via the front door.
March 9
There were at least 4 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 1 vehicle was recovered.
Asleep at the wheel: A man was found unconscious at the wheel of his vehicle at around 1:50 a.m. near the 34800 block of Pacific Highway South. The man also had a firearm in his lap. Officers had to use several tactics to wake him, but they were successful and arrested him without issue.
Power scooter stolen: Officers responded to reports of a theft in progress at approximately 4:15 a.m. The subject was reportedly climbing over garbage bins to attempt to steal a power scooter off a balcony. When police arrived, both the subject and the power scooter were gone.
Juvenile weapons offense: A victim was walking home at approximately 5 p.m. when a vehicle with juveniles drove past and fired two shots at the victim near the 34600 block of 21st Avenue Southwest. The vehicle fled from officers, crashed, and the occupants fled on foot. Three were arrested and transported to the King County Youth Detention Center.
March 10
There was at least 1 report of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 3 vehicles were recovered.
Officer assaults: Officers were assaulted in two separate incidents on this day. The first was during an arrest at approximately 11:20 a.m. near the 2000 block of South 327th Lane. The second was at approximately 12:05 p.m. during a domestic violence call.
Nonresidential burglary: At about 4:20 a.m., officers were sent to a retail business near the 30900 block of Pacific Highway South for a commercial alarm. They found evidence of forced entry.
March 11
There were at least 5 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 1 vehicle was recovered.
Church break-in: At approximately 9:45 p.m., employees of a church near the 5000 block of SW Dash Point Road found the tailgates on two of their storage trailers had been broken. Upon inspection they found that a number of power tools had been stolen.
Road rage: Two women were involved in a road rage incident at approximately 7 p.m. near the cross street of Southwest 320th Street and 21st Avenue Southwest.
Diaper bag stolen: A diaper bag containing baby food, clothing and diapers was stolen out of a vehicle in a smash and grab at approximately 5:50 p.m. near the 35100 block of Enchanted Parkway South.
March 12
At least 4 stolen vehicles were recovered on this day.
Neighbor disturbance: At approximately 11:45 a.m., officers responded to a call for a neighbor disturbance near the 1800 block of South 281st Place. Upon arrival, they were flagged down by a woman who was unrelated to the disturbance incident whose uncle had multiple warrants. Police then located and arrested the uncle.
Personal letters stolen: A theft from a vehicle between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. included handwritten letters and clothing. The incident occurred near the 31200 block of Pacific Highway South.
Scam: An elderly woman was scammed through Facebook for $15,000 in gift cards.
