Decatur High School senior Sun Hong, tennis, is the Federal Way Mirror Female Athlete of the Week for May 12.
Q: What is your favorite subject/class in school?
A: Environmental Science.
Q: What hobbies do you enjoy outside of your sport?
A: Bowling, baking and violin.
Q: Who is the person in your life that has helped you succeed the most?
A: My mom, dad and coach.
Q: If you could have dinner with anyone (living or from the past), who would it be? Why?
A: Both of my grandfathers because I never got to meet them.
Q: Describe your pre-game ritual.
A: Listening to music while stretching and doing the “Gators on the War Path” chant.
Q: Song you currently can’t stop listening to?
A: “OMG” by NewJeans.
From the sidelines: DHS senior Sun Hong is a member of the Gators’ No. 1 doubles team, earning her second varsity letter award. She and her partner are prepared to move on to the NPSL post-season tournament. Sun has also been a four-year participant in girls swimming. Sun has been a leader in the classroom earning a 3.829 cumulative grade point average. In the last two academic years, she has challenged herself by taking courses through Running Start.
