Decatur High School junior Alosina Fuiava, fastpitch, is the Federal Way Mirror Female Athlete of the Week for April 14.
Q: What is your favorite subject/class in school?
A: Physics.
Q: What hobbies do you enjoy outside of your sport?
A: Traveling with my friends.
Q: Who is the person in your life that has helped you succeed the most?
A: My cousin Lani. She always has been my rock.
Q: If you could have dinner with anyone (living or from the past), who would it be? Why?
A: Jocelyn Alo, to ask for any tips on how to get out of a hitting slump.
Q: Describe your pre-game ritual:
A: I drink an energy drink and listen to music.
Q: Song you currently can’t stop listening to?
A: Any song off of Daniel Caesar’s album “Never Enough.”
From the sidelines: DHS junior Alosina Fuiava is the leading hitter on the Gators fastpitch Team. Her contributions on defensive have also been made significant contributions to her flexibility to play third and first base. Sina will earn her third varsity letter award in fastpitch this season. Last season, the coaches selected Sina to the NPSL All-League First Team. Sina currently has a .769 batting average while hitting nine home runs and batting in 26 runners. Both on and off the field, Sina has been an exemplary scholar-athlete. She has excelled in the classroom earning a 3.650 cumulative grade point average in a rigorous college prep schedule including five Advanced Placement courses.
