Thank you Amy Johnson for your Nov. 13 opinion on pharmacists’ injustices to women who practice sex (protected or otherwise). I fought for your right to freedom of speech.

You believe that pharmacists should abandon their consciences and be forced to act against their core beliefs. Why? Put simply, because it is “inconvenient” for a woman to find another source to fill their life-killing prescription. The drug you mention is not a contraceptive. It is a human embryo killer.

Using your reasoning, all hospitals (including the Catholic St. Francis Hospital) must abandon their consciences and perform abortions. All doctors, without regard for their personal convictions, must prescribe life-killing drugs because a patient requests them.

How might we force these awful religionists to conform to your opinion? Court mandates? Legislation? Take away their jobs, fine them, imprison them, or confiscate their properties? Is that the American way?

Everyone is entitled to personal and civil liberties. But my liberties end where another’s liberties (and conscience) begins. The pharmacists you attack worship and serve God. Aren’t you “playing God” by judging them? Would you take away a pharmacist’s “right to choose” whom they will serve — God or man?

Your opinion is an attack on pharmacists’ religious freedom. I fought for the pharmacists’ right to religious freedom as well.
