Tricks ‘N Treats Funfest: Held at the Federal Way Community Center, take a stroll down a Haunted Hallway, enjoy treats from local vendors and collect lots of candy. Picture opportunities. Cost is $5 per child ages 2-12 (adults are free). From 3 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29 at 876 S. 333rd Street. Register at itallhappenshere.org or call 253-835-6900.
Fright Fest at Wild Waves: Held Oct. 7-30, Fright Fest includes haunted attractions of horror and thrills, and a special scare-free area called Booville for kids under 12. Guests can ride their favorite rides and roller coasters in the dark. Wild Waves is located at 36201 Enchanted Parkway S. in Federal Way. Hours are Fridays, 6 to 10 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, 2 to 10 p.m. Fright Fest is included with a 2022 or 2023 Season Pass or daily admission. Reservations required. Halloween Farmers Market: It’s a spooky send off for the final day of the 2022 Federal Way Farmers Market season on Saturday, Oct. 29. Visit the farmers market to enjoy games, candy, a costume contest and shopping from local vendors. The market is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. behind The Commons mall along South 324th Street.
Halloween Carnival and Trunk or Treat: Join in the fun with carnival games, trick or treating, crafts and dinner (hot dogs and chili) from 5-7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 31. Non-scary costumes encouraged. Free Family Trick or Treat: Come celebrate Halloween at The Commons at Federal Way! Trick or Treat around the mall at participating stores from 5-7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 31. Costumed kids receive a free Halloween pumpkin tote at Guest Services. Candy and totes are available while supplies last. No weapon-like costume accessories permitted. Full face covering not permitted for those over 12. More details at shopthecommonsmall.com.
Costume Drive: For the children served by the FUSION Family Center, Halloween costumes don’t make the list of essentials in the family budget. You can help FUSION bring imaginations to life for these kiddos by donating new and gently used costumes for all sizes and ages. Needed items include new or gently used costumes, all ages, respectful and family friendly, nothing offensive and no weapons, new halloween face masks and make-up, and costume accessories such as wings, wands, capes or others. Please drop them off at the Pete Andersen FUSION Family Center by Saturday, Oct. 22nd. Donations are welcome to be dropped off day or night at 1505 South 328th Street in Federal Way.
