A 9/11 memorial ceremony was hosted Sept. 11 at South King Fire and Rescue Station 64. The event honored first responders who ran toward the twin towers during the 2001 terrorist attacks. Speaking at this year’s ceremony was Earl Johnson, the author of “Stairwell To Heaven: A 9-11 World Trade Center Survivor’s Story of Escape, Heroism…and Family.” He held a 28-year career in the financial services industry and is a graduate of the University of Washington. Federal Way Police Chief Andy Hwang also had inspiring words and a tribute to the first responders.
