John Farrar Sr, age 81, passed on July 4th, 2022. He was deeply loved by his family and will be greatly missed.

John Harlan Farrar Sr. was born in Yelm, WA and was the third of five children. He grew up in the Tacoma area, attending Stadium High School.

In 1958, John enlisted in the Army and served in Germany.

In 1972, John met Chris and they were married in July of that year.

John had a winning smile and sparkling clear blue eyes, with a strong and distinct voice. He loved all Seattle sports teams, as well as radio, computers and technology.

One of his favorite positions was as part-owner of KEXI, a radio station located in Milton-Freewater, OR. He worked for IBM as well as AT&T. He loved traveling and worked on a long-term project in India for AT&T.

John is survived by his wife Chris, children Jody, Cathy, John, Nikki, Mark and Kyra, his sister Dottie, fifteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial will be held on Friday September 30th, 2022 at 9:30am. The location will be Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th St, Kent, WA 98042. Those who wish to attend the memorial are welcome to wear something from a Seattle sports team in honor of John.
