Aug. 17
Homicide: At about 5 a.m. near South 298th Street, officers arrived to an in-progress CPR on an unconscious female. After investigation, it was determined the death was a homicide. Detectives are investigating.
Man with knife, gun: At about 7:12 a.m. near the 31900 block of 2nd Lane SW, officers were dispatched to an apartment complex for reports of a man wielding a knife and a gun. Officers arrested the man, who was cited and released.
Aug. 18
Man fights security: At about 1:09 a.m. near the 1200 block of South 320th Street, officers responded to a physical altercation between a man and a grocery store security officer. When officers arrived, they located the suspect leaving the area and attempted to detain him. The suspect advanced toward an officer and a physical struggle ensued. The suspect was placed under arrest and later booked into jail.
Boy with knife: At about 2 p.m. near the 34800 block of 8th Place SW, officers responded to reports of threats with a knife. After investigation, officers developed probable cause to arrest a juvenile suspect for felony harassment. The juvenile was later located, arrested and booked.
Man punches boy: At about 3 p.m. near the 27900 block of Pacific Highway South, a man punched a boy in the back of the head. The suspect was gone upon police arrival.
Aug. 19
Weapons threat: At about 4:25 p.m. near the 27900 block of Pacific Highway South, officers responded to an apartment complex for reports of threats with a weapon. Once officers arrived on scene, officers established probable cause to arrest the suspect on domestic violence assault charges. The suspect was booked into jail.
Neighbor strangles boy: At about 9:06 p.m. near the 2600 block of South 272nd Street, a boy called police stating he was strangled by a neighbor. When officers arrived, it was determined that the boy was assaulted and strangled, and another resident of the condos was also assaulted. The suspect was gone upon police arrival and does not live at the condos, but frequents the area. The suspect was not identified.
Aug. 20
Dumpster fire burns cars, trees: At about 4 a.m. near the 31000 block of 14th Avenue South, fire crews and officers responded to reports of a dumpster fire. The fire spread to and damaged several trees and vehicles. No suspect information and the King County arson investigator responded to the scene.
Domestic violence suspect flees: At about 6:20 p.m. near the 33200 block of Pacific Highway South, officers responded to a domestic violence assault. The suspect fled from the location on foot and was located a few blocks away. The suspect had discarded a backpack which contained a loaded pistol, numerous suspected narcotics and a scale. The suspect was arrested and booked into jail.
Aug. 21
Weapons assault: At about 6:30 p.m. near the 1700 block of SW 308th Street, officers responded to an assault in progress that had evolved into an assault with a weapon. They located one victim and one suspect at a nearby location. One suspect was still at large. The suspect was booked into jail on assault charges.
Aug. 23
Woman arrested: At about 5:20 p.m. near the 34800 block of Pacific Highway South, a stolen vehicle was stopped and a female driver was taken into custody. The driver had previous felonies and was found to be in possession of a stolen firearm.
Two motorcycle crashes: Police and fire crews responded to two separate vehcile versus motorcycle crashes on Aug. 23. The first occurred around 4 p.m. the 1100 block of South 348th Street. The 51-year-old motorcyclist was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center and is in stable condition. Around 6:30 p.m., a 22-year-old motorcyclist collided with a vehicle that turned in front of him near the 28900 block of Military Road South. The man died at the scene.
