Todd Beamer High School junior Candace Nhye, track and field, was selected as the Federal Way Mirror Female Athlete of the Week for April 1.
Q: What is your favorite subject/class in school?
A: Orchestra or English Language Arts.
Q: What additional activities/hobbies do you enjoy?
A: I like to paint, run, eat, and hang out with my best friends.
Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?
A: My dad, mom, grandma, and all my coaches from sixth grade to now.
Q: What is the best advice you’ve been given when it comes to your sport?
A: “Everything you do now compounds over time.”
Q: Describe your pre-meet ritual:
A: On the way to a meet, I listen to Gospel music. On the starting line, I pray to God for strength.
Q: Song you currently can’t stop listening to?
A: “Isaiah Song” and “Wait On You” by Maverick City Music.
