Kent/Des Moines Road to close overnight for light rail construction

Overnight closures from Feb. 28 to March 3.

Crews working on the Federal Way Link Extension will close State Route 516, also known as Kent/Des Moines Road, from Interstate 5 to State Route 99 for bridge deck construction.

The road will be fully closed beginning 10 p.m. Monday, Feb. 28 to 5 a.m. Tuesday, March 1. Eastbound lanes will be closed 10 p.m. Tuesday, March 1 to 5 a.m. Monday, March 2. Westbound lanes will be closed 10 p.m. Wednesday, March 2 to 5 a.m. Thursday, March 3.

Commuters needing to access State Route 99 from Interstate 5 will need to take Military Road to South 272nd Street to detour around the closure. Crews will endeavor to reduce noise, but cranes, trucks and other heavy equipment will be used for this work.
