I would like to thank two of our public officials, Deputy Mayor Jeanne Burbidge and Councilmember Martin Moore, for their work last Saturday morning at the Federal Way Fred Meyer.
Both did a wonderful job of manning a drop-off box for the food bank, as well as passing out fliers for the city’s Martin Luther King Jr. celebration.
It was nice to see them greeting shoppers, shaking hands and taking the time to visit with as many people as possible. It was a good way to brighten a gloomy-looking Saturday. They were accompanied by members from AmeriCorps, who were lending a helping hand.
Thanks for taking the time to get personal in our community.
Kathy Franklin, Federal Way
