Dini Duclos kicks off council re-election campaign

Federal Way Deputy Mayor Dini Duclos will kick off her 2011 re-election campaign at 7:30 a.m. March 15 at Twin Lakes Golf and Country Club, 3583 SW 320th St. All are welcome to attend.

Duclos, who is CEO of the Multi-Service Center, was first elected to the council in November 2007 in a close race against Hope Elder. She was appointed deputy mayor in January 2010.

“There is more work to be done on the council and I am ready to work with all constituents to make Federal Way a great place to live, work and do business,” said Duclos in a news release. “There is much left to accomplish. Our immediate concerns are very different than they were four years ago. The challenge of today’s economy means carefully making tough choices. My goals for the next four years will focus on the active recruitment of industries and employers that will increase our economic development. We must continue support for our small businesses so that they can grow and expand. The Federal Way budget must be sustainable so that we provide for the safety of all our citizens, continue to preserve and protect our open spaces and residential neighborhoods.”

Mayor Skip Priest, King County Councilmember Pete von Reichbauer, State Rep. Mark Miloscia and Federal Way City Councilman Jim Ferrell will speak at the campaign event.
