Acclaimed speaker Rory Vaden is taking a bus tour across the country to raise money for education and teach Americans about the key to success: self-discipline.
Vaden will present a live seminar from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. March 30 at Federal Way High School gymnasium, 30611 16th Ave. S. Admission is free and open to the public. A suggested donation of $10 per person will go toward the school’s clubs and activities.
At the seminar, Vaden will teach principles of success from his book “Take the Stairs: 7 Steps to Achieving True Success.” The book is a New York Times bestseller.
Rosemarie Burke, FWHS dean of students, invited Vaden to the city after taking the school’s softball team to hear him speak.
“You just feel reassured that you’re strong enough to make it,” she said of Vaden’s simple and inspirational message. “Kids need a vision for their lives. That’s what we need to do as educators.”
As part of the Take the Stairs World Tour, Rory Vaden is climbing stairs at the 10 tallest buildings in the world to raise money for youth character education programs. Vaden is a two-time world champion of public speaking finalist for Toastmasters International.
