After more than a year of pandemic-related restrictions, Curves Federal Way is open at full capacity.
On June 30, Washington state reopened per Gov. Jay Inslee’s orders, and Curves decided to celebrate.
During the time of gym and restaurant closures, Curves relocated to the corner of S. 320th Street and 1st Avenue South. The gym has operated at, or less than, 50% capacity since the move.
To celebrate the reopening, Curves officially cut the ribbon on their new location with the Greater Federal Way Chamber of Commerce, city officials, and members on June 30.
“We’ve survived and now we’re ready to help the women of our community get stronger and achieve their goals.,” said Sharon Gentry, owner of Curves Federal Way. “We have been blessed with an amazing new space and we just want to share it. We’ve been waiting for this day. We exist to help strengthen women and what better time than now?”
The snip of the ribbon was met with a special effects cloud of liquid nitrogen courtesy Federal Way’s Sub-Zero Nitrogen Ice Cream.
“I really can’t express how thankful I am for all the encouragement and support we’ve received today and all of last year,” Gentry said. “This has been a hard year-and-a-half, but we have an amazing community and better days are ahead of us.”
