Mark Greene is a candidate for Mayor of Federal Way for the second time. Mark, a veteran, writer, playwright, blogger, legal assistant and politician, aims to dramatically improve the governance of Federal Way by going directly to the People of Federal Way, and heeding their wisdom.

Among Mark’s goals for the city are good jobs and housing stock, reliable and maintained infrastructure, a strong & vibrant police force, and a new arts and architectural commission. Mark will work for the betterment of our city through the tried and true values of patriotism, tradition, progress and non-radical, common sense ecology.

Mark will come up with new solutions to the vexing problem of homelessness, including trying to establish one or two old-fashioned YMCA-style buildings & single occupancy rooms, with self-reliance programs, for those who have been in the city for at least one year.

Mark has lived in Federal Way from 2002 – 2006 and again from 2013 to the present time. He knows the city well, has tangled with Mayor Ferrell, and brings immense knowledge and experience of the political world that’s needed to improve city functions and get things done.

Like a persistent, old boxer, Mark will be relentless and enthusiastic in thinking outside the box to bring new ideas to the forefront of the mayoral campaign, such as refashioning the idea of a patriotic-themed logo for Federal Way (jettisoned by Ferrell & the Council early in Ferrell’s second term), but with a change, the depictions of historical presidents George Washington and Abraham Lincoln instead of Mount Rainier, since the beautiful mountain is not located within the boundaries of Federal Way. Washington and Lincoln, however, are everywhere in the landscape and hearts of America.
