Sept. 15
Stolen puppies: At about 2:47 p.m. near the 600 block of SW 294th Street, a resident reported three puppies missing. The resident said his wife accidentally did not secure their garage door, and three American Bully puppies escaped, making their way to the sidewalk and street area. One puppy returned home. The resident’s neighbor reported seeing a man in a grey sedan and a person driving a green Suburban pick up the puppies. The puppies are valued at $7,000 each and are microchipped.
Sept. 17
Pharmacy break-in: At about 2:18 a.m. near the 1014 block of S. 320th Street, officers responded to a burglary alarm at the Onuri Pharmacy. Upon arrival, officers found the key lock damaged and the door unsecured. The security gate inside was forcibly removed from the hinges. The unknown suspect(s) stole prescription medication before fleeing. At this time, there are no witnesses.
Arson fire: At about 10:19 p.m. near the 1700 block of S. 320th Street, officers and South King Fire personnel responded to a dumpster fire behind the Grand Peking restaurant. The fire was extinguished and no other property was damaged. There are no witnesses or suspects. There have been multiple dumpsters set on fire in the surrounding area over the past several days.
Sept. 18
Blown cover: At about 5:30 a.m. near the 31400 block of Pacific Highway S., a victim called to report he caught two men breaking into his vehicle and stealing a leaf blower. The victim was near his truck when he saw two suspects shatter his passenger side window and take the leaf blower. The victim then chased the suspects and was able to get the leaf blower back. The victim does maintenance at the location and said he has seen the suspects before. There are no known security cameras in the area.
Getaway car: At about 10:40 a.m. near the 2400 block of SW 334th Place, a woman reported she woke up to find her car was missing. She believes her ex-boyfriend’s friend, who was staying the night, stole her car in the middle of the night.
Mattress mix-up: At about 4:18 p.m. near the 29211 block of 3rd Avenue SW, a woman reported she ordered a mattress from Costco and two mattresses had been delivered in error. She contacted the company and arranged for UPS to pick up the second mattress from her home. The woman put the mattress, still in the package, in front of her residence for pick up. Prior to UPS arriving, a red Chevrolet pickup with a white bed cover back into her driveway, loaded up the mattress and drove away. The license plate number is unknown, but the woman does have photos of the vehicle.
Sept. 19
People in stolen vehicle: At about 4:24 a.m. near the 1900 block of SW Campus Drive, an officer’s automatic license plate reader located a stolen vehicle at the Pavilion Apartments. The vehicle was occupied by three people. The occupants were detained and the vehicle was confirmed stolen out of Everett. A handgun was found behind the front passenger seat. The driver was placed under arrest for possession of a stolen vehicle. The front passenger was arrested for violation of carrying a firearm, then later released. The female in the back seat was identified and released. The vehicle was impounded to the station. The driver was booked into jail.
Sept. 20
Gunfire into neighbor’s apartment: At about 1:19 a.m near the 30923 block of 17th Avenue SW, officers responded to an apartment where a woman said she heard a gunshot, then found two bullet holes in her apartment. When officers arrived, they determined that the bullet came from the neighboring apartment unit. Officers developed probable cause to arrest the neighbor for reckless endangerment.
Sept. 21
Doggy door thief: At about 8:11 a.m. near the 3000 block of 38th Avenue S., a woman reported sometime overnight while she was sleeping, someone reached through the dog door of her sliding glass door and unlocked the door. The suspect stole her purse containing her ID cards, cash, other personal documents and her car keys. Her car was not stolen. Nothing else in the house appeared to be missing. At this time, there are no suspects, witnesses, leads or video available.
Sept. 22
Dumpster fire: At about 12:37 a.m. near the 1700 block of S. 320th Street, officers responded to a dumpster fire near Cafe Rio restaurant. Upon arrival, officers met with SKFR personnel who had extinguished the fire. The fire damaged the dumpster, but did not damage the business or any other property. The fire investigation said this fire is most likely arson due to several other recent, similar occurrences in the area.
Parking space dispute: At about 3:11 p.m. near the 2211 block of S. Star Lake Road, the suspect and the victim were in a dispute over a parking space. The suspect pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the victim. The suspect was arrested and booked into the Kent Regional Justice Center.
