14 people displaced by apartment fire in Federal Way

Red Cross is assisting 6 adults, 8 kids displaced by Wednesday apartment fire near S. 339th Circle.

Six adults and eight kids have been displaced after a fire tore through a Federal Way apartment complex on Wednesday afternoon.

At about 4 p.m. on Aug. 26, South King Fire & Rescue crews were dispatched to reports of smoke on the patio of an apartment in the 100 block of S. 339th Circle in Federal Way. Upon arrival, flames had made their way to the attic and were visible above the four-unit complex.

There were no injuries as a result of the fire, said SKFR Assistant Chief Kevin Crossen. The American Red Cross is working to assist the 14 people displaced by the fire.

The building is a total loss, according to SKFR Community Affairs Officer Lt. Andrew Lowen.

Additional crews from Tacoma Fire and Valley Regional Fire Authority also assisted on scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by King County Sheriff”s Office.
