Free drive-thru and walk-up COVID-19 testing is now offered weekly at Sea Mar Community Health Centers, including Sea Mar Federal Way Medical Clinic.
The health clinics are hosting free scheduled drive-thru and walk-up appointments for testing every Tuesday from noon-4 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m.- 1 p.m., beginning May 19.
Testing is free for all family members and health insurance is not required.
Those looking to get a test must first call the Sea Mar Federal Way Medical Clinic at 253-681-6600.Appointments for COVID-19 testing will be scheduled after an evaluation is done with a Sea Mar provider over the phone.
Individuals do not need to be a Sea Mar patient to receive a test, the health organization says. All are welcome.
“It’s important for Sea Mar to protect our most vulnerable communities, including Latinos, brown and black communities, individuals experiencing homelessness, and people who are under and uninsured,” said Dr. Ricardo Jimenez, Sea Mar vice president of Medical Affairs and chief medical officer. “By providing weekly free COVID-19 testing, we’ll be able to slow the spread of the virus and keep our families safe.”
The testing site is located in the parking lot of the Sea Mar Federal Way Medical Clinic at 31405 18th Ave S. in Federal Way.
Those who schedule a drive-through appointment will remain in their cars for their test and people who schedule a walk-up appointment will receive their test outside under a tent.
Weekly free testing is made possible by a partnership with Sea Mar and King County Public Health, which provides testing kits and additional supplies. All tests will be administered by Sea Mar staff with test results expected within 72 hours, with laboratory services by Quest.
Sea Mar Federal Way testing hours and Sea Mar testing service locations will be expanded based on demand and available supplies.
