Decatur High School senior Ramona Jagger, basketball, was selected as the Federal Way Mirror Female Athlete of the Week for Dec. 20.
Q: What is your favorite subject/class in school?
A: Photography.
Q: What other activities/hobbies do you enjoy?
A: Reading, volleyball, gardening.
Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?
A: My dad and my coaches.
Q: The best advice I’ve ever been given by a coach is:
A: “There’s always someone putting in work even when you aren’t.”

A: I listen to music and get hyped in the locker room.

From the sideline: DHS senior Ramona Jagger last week led the Decatur High School girls basketball team to a win over Auburn Mountainview and a tough loss to Todd Beamer. She is leading the team by several statistical categories. Ramona is one of Decatur’s captains that leads by example, encouraging teammates to join her in raising their level of play. Ramona played four years of volleyball for Decatur culminating in a trip to the NPSL postseason tournament and selection as an Olympic League Honorable Mention. Ramona is also a leader off the court. She has earned a 4.00 Cumulative Grade Point Average in a rigorous college prep schedule including multiple Advanced Placement courses in social studies, math and English. She has secured offers to continue her academic pursuits and play basketball after high school.
