Federal Way Mirror Female Athlete of the Week for Dec. 13: Victoria Furniss

TBHS senior is the only four-year athlete on girls bowling team.

Todd Beamer High School senior Victoria Furniss, bowling, was selected as the Federal Way Mirror Female Athlete of the Week for Dec. 13.

Q: What is your favorite subject/class in school?

A: Studio art.

Q: What other activities/hobbies do you enjoy?

A: I love collecting books. Modern novels to 1800s classics.

Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?

A: My grandfather has guided me through anything and everything I have endured in life. Counseling me in academics to inspiring me to strengthen my mind and exceed in anything I put my mind to.

Q: The best advice I’ve ever been given by a coach is:

A: “Don’t overthink your steps. Allow your muscle memory to take over, your body knows the approach. Allow it to take over.”

Q: Describe your pre-game ritual and favorite post-game meal.

A: My favorite pre-game ritual is greeting my colleagues at the bowling alley, allowing myself to relax so my stress does not take over when I am preparing myself for a match.

Q: Song you currently can’t stop listening to?

A: “Kids Again” by Artist Vs. Poet.

From the sideline: TBHS senior Victoria Furniss is the Titans only current athlete who has been a member of the bowling team for four consecutive years. Her dedication and commitment to the sport and her teammates is shown daily at practice and during matches. Victoria has a growth mindset and is continuously engaged in learning and improving. She’s a natural role model on and off the lanes and always leads by example.
