Thomas Jefferson defeated second-place Decatur 3-2 in an NPSL boys tennis match on Oct. 15.
With the victory, TJ finishes 13-1 and wins outright the NSPL Olympic Division.
“This was the final match ever to be played on the TJ tennis courts, a place that I have called home since 1990,” said TJHS boys tennis coach Andrew Buchan.
For the next few years, Thomas Jefferson will be playing at the Federal Way High School tennis courts until TJ’s new campus – and new courts – are built.
While the first phases of construction began over the summer, full construction of the Thomas Jefferson campus is set to begin in the winter of 2020. The new campus is expected to be completed and open in time for the fall 2021 school year.
“Tuesday was a wonderful way to end the league season for TJ seniors Elyas Poore, Ryan Oka, Jack Balster, Logan Grall, Gabe Borchers, and Simon Lee,” Buchan said.
