Federal Way National Little League is collecting granola bars for the Federal Way Bridging A Gap (BAG) Program now through Oct. 12.

“FWNLL is striving to play a bigger role in the community,” said Libby Ray, publicity director for the league. “The BAG program is very important to FWNLL because the purpose is to provide meals to children on the weekends and children are the heart of FWNLL.”

Once FWNLL T-Ball Director Gary Haven sat down with BAG founder Valerie Danforth, he knew this was a program Federal Way National Little League wanted to support, Ray said.

Federal Way National Little has over 450 children playing in the spring season, over 100 in Fall Ball and, Ray said, they are the league’s most important asset.

“If FWNLL can help our players and students in the Federal Way school district with FWNLL BAG program donations, that is a home run for all involved.”

FWNLL is collecting granola bars through Saturday, October 12.

The public can drop the bars off at the concession stand on Saturdays. Granola bars can also be mailed to FWNLL, 1911 SW Campus Drive, #214, Federal Way, 98023.
