Threatening subject: At approximately 1:32 p.m. near the 31400 block of 18th Ave. S., while leaving work a victim was yelled at by an unknown male who attempted to gain entry to her vehicle. She had her door locked so the male was unable to enter, but made a gun gesture at her with his fingers and hand. The woman was able to quickly drive away and made a Safe City alert to officers. This case is for information only and is closed.
July 26
Skate rink brawl: At approximately 11:07 p.m. near the 34200 block of Pacific Highway S., officers responded to Pattison’s West Skate Rink for a large fight in progress. One juvenile male was punched in the back of the head, causing pain. Police determined a male provoked the fight. There were no known reported suspects.
PSE protest: At approximately 12:43 p.m. near the 1800 block of S. 311th Place, PSE shut off the suspect’s power, and the suspect protested by standing in front of the PSE employee’s truck and disallowing them to leave. The suspect was ordered to stand aside or she would be arrested. She refused to move and resisted arrest, though she was eventually cuffed. She kicked the patrol vehicle door, denting it. The suspect was booked into SCORE jail.
July 27
Illegal dumping: At approximately 7:59 p.m. near the 1900 block of SW 356th St., a homeowner called 911 after his neighbor told him a black pickup with a dent on the passenger side rear tire well illegally dumped concrete blocks on the homeowner’s property. The homeowner said he bought this property a few weeks ago and their might have been a pre-existing agreement for the concrete blocks and the person who dropped them off was unaware of the move. No further suspect information.
Transient camp: At approximately 2:45 p.m. near the 700 block of S. 348th St., police received a radio call of unwanted transients setting up camp in that area. The area is protected wetlands that the city recently cleaned up. Two tents were located with four subjects inside. One had a Department of Corrections escape warrant that he was arrested on shortly after attempting to flee the area, but the other three had no warrants and had not been trespassed from that area before. Dozens of needles were found in the area and a baggie of heroin was seized. The transients were offered resources but refused and left the area.
July 29
Suspicious person: At approximately 2:02 p.m. near the 29600 block of 8th Ave. SW, police responded to a suspicious person report. The reporting party was in her yard and said an unknown vehicle drove up her driveway and the driver asked if her house was for rent. When she said no, the driver responded with, “I’m going to get you.” He then left the area without incident and no other statements or behavior was observed. The reporting party wanted the issue documented. The vehicle is registered to a Puyallup address.
Register recovered: At approximately 11:56 a.m. near the 36800 block of 19th Way S., officers found an abandoned cash register on top of a plastic bag filled with receipts. The receipts were from Golden Wok in Renton. Apparently Golden Wok had been the victim of an armed robbery on July 27. Detectives fingerprinted the register, which was into evidence along with the plastic bag and receipts.
