Police arrested the suspect who allegedly fatally shot a male at a SeaTac park on July 5 after they located him at a house in Federal Way on Monday night.

At approximately 9 p.m., the King County Sheriff’s Office located the 26-year-old Federal Way man at a home in Federal Way that he is known to associate with, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office. The man was taken into custody on Tuesday morning and booked into the King County Jail.

The suspect’s 29-year-old girlfriend was also booked into jail for rendering criminal assistance to the suspect.

The shooting happened at about 7:20 p.m. on Friday, July 5 when the victim was at Valley Ridge Park, located in the 4400 block of S. 188th St. in SeaTac.

Detectives determined through their investigation that the suspect drove through the park in a Dodge Charger. He allegedly said something to the victim and then fired multiple rounds, striking the victim and killing him immediately, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office.

The suspect fled the scene but video surveillance showed a vehicle with unique characteristics. Federal Way police found the vehicle a day later and it was established that it belonged to the suspect. Through the investigation it was determined that the suspect had an issue with a male who looked similar to the victim, but was not the victim, police said.
