Police have arrested the suspect who allegedly attempted to kidnap a 14-year-old Lakota Middle School student on Tuesday evening.
Federal Way police Commander Kurt Schwan said the teen positively identified the suspect, who was subsequently arrested and booked in jail.
The suspect has not been charged yet, and the Mirror has requested more information from police regarding the suspect, who the girl had described as approximately a 40-year-old man.
The girl was walking home near Decatur High School after a school activity, when the suspect who was driving a dark pick-up truck approached her around 6 p.m., she told police. She was walking near Southwest 320th Street and 25th Avenue Southwest.
Federal Way Public Schools notified families of both Lakota Middle and Decatur High schools of the incident on Thursday afternoon.
According to the district’s letter, the school district was notified about the attempted kidnapping on Thursday. The district provided extra security near the location on Friday.
