Threats with a knife: At 2:56 p.m. at the Safeway on South 320th Street, officers were dispatched to a call of threats with a knife. Loss prevention attempted to stop a suspect with three jugs of laundry detergent they did not pay for. A witness stated the suspect produced a folding knife but made no threats with it before leaving in a vehicle.

Jan. 14

Thief caught on camera: At 7:28 p.m. near the 2600 block of SW 353rd Place, the reporting party told police he caught video surveillance of a suspect stealing a package from his porch. The complainant said the package contained a yellow gold bracelet with charms on it, valued at about $400. He said he would attempt to email the footage to police, but at the time the report was written no email had been received. There are no leads at this time.

Jan. 13

Bad first date: At 4:02 a.m. near the 32000 block of Military Road S., officers responded to a call from a female who reported that she was kidnapped by a male and he was still with her at the Mobile gas station. An investigation determined it was a bad first date and verbal domestic argument. There were no injuries, no one held against their will and no crime was committed.

Road rage: At 11:08 a.m. near the 3500 block of SW 340th St., police responded to a call of a two-car collision. Once on scene, police made contract with the two parties involved and an independent witness. The witness confirmed this seemed to be a case of road rage, and said the driver of a white 4Runner illegally overtook the other vehicle and immediately slammed its brakes causing the other car to collide with it. The case was forwarded to the prosecutor.

Jan. 12

Woman twitching in bathroom: At 8:05 a.m. near the 34800 block of Pacific Highway S., officers responded to a call for a welfare check at Burger King. Once police arrived, they heard the female who needed the welfare check screaming in the locked bathroom. They attempted to contact her, but she was unable to open the door. Police obtained permission to break the bathroom door lock to get to the woman. Once inside the restroom, they found the subject “twitching” in an uncontrollable manner without any pants. The subject was identified by her medical bracelet. According to the report, it was clear she was unable to care for herself.

BB gun used to smash window: At 9:21 p.m. near the 1900 block of S. 314th St., officers responded to a call of malicious mischief at Walmart. The reporting party said he returned to his vehicle and found a small hole in one of his windows and the entire window cracked. After reviewing video surveillance, officers saw a sedan pull up to the van, the van’s window shatters and the sedan drives away. Witnesses reported hearing a BB gun go off around the same time. There was no suspect information gathered. At this point in time it is believed a BB gun was used to damage the van window.

Jan. 11

More road rage: At 3:29 p.m. near the 34800 block of Pacific Highway S., a male victim called to report a road rage situation. He said a female in her early 30’s driving a white Nissan sedan was upset with him for unknown reasons. She swerved several times as if she was going to hit the male’s vehicle with hers but never made contact. The suspect followed the victim for a time and then threw an unknown liquid substance on the victim’s vehicle. There is no further suspect information.

Armed robber flees business: At 6:10 p.m. near the 1640 block of S. 310th St., officers responded to a call of an armed robbery. The caller reported that a male armed with a handgun had robbed the business and then fled on foot. As officers were en route the caller reported the suspect had actually gotten into a waiting sedan. The sedan then left going south on 18th Avenue South.

Jan. 10

Suspect assaults elderly woman: At 11:07 a.m. at a Walmart near the 34500 block of 16th Ave. S., police responded to a report of a suspect assaulting an elderly woman in the parking lot. The victim was able to get a photo of the suspect and her vehicle. The suspect was located at her residence, but she resisted arrest. She was taken into custody and booked into SCORE.
