Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log:
Dec. 27
Burglary: At 1:10 a.m. at 2025 S. 341st Place, a male suspect was arrested for second degree burglary and booked into SCORE jail.
Laundry cart theft: At 12:46 a.m. at 27211 Pacific Highway S., two unknown female suspects stole a laundry cart valued at $300 from Redondo Coin laundromat. The suspects then left in an unknown-type vehicle. The victim did not wish to prosecute at the time of the report but wanted her property back.
Overdose: At 3:19 p.m. at 27515 Pacific Highway S., a male was found on the restroom floor overdosed on an unknown drug. The male was unconscious and unresponsive. Fire personnel administered NARCAN and the male came to. Drugs and paraphernalia was found near the male. It was collected and booked into evidence. The male was transported to St. Francis Hospital.
Man with felony warrant arrested: At 4:57 p.m. at 31300 30th Ave. SW, Federal Way Police Department special investigation detectives and Gang Unit officers were made aware of a felony warrant subject via a bulletin. Detectives and Gang Unit officers set up in the area and observed the subject driving his vehicle. They conducted a traffic stop and detained the subject. He was booked into SCORE jail. The vehicle was released to the subject’s mother who was in the passenger seat of the vehicle.
Strong arm robbery: At 5:51 p.m. at 1801 S. 320th St., officers responded to a robbery at Applebee’s. The suspects were nine teen males who were gone on arrival. The suspects each ordered food then left without paying for their meals. When the suspects were leaving, they assaulted an Applebee’s employee who attempted to stop them.
Dec. 26
Forcible rape: At an unlisted time at 34100 16th Ave. S., a victim was sexually assaulted while walking down 16th Avenue South by an unknown male. The victim was uncooperative during the investigation.
Lewd conduct: At 1:08 a.m. at 35503 21st Ave. SW, a male subject was reported to be sleeping and urinating in front of Pizza Hut. He had a felony warrant out of King County for second-degree malicious mischief for $2,500. The subject was booked into SCORE jail.
Shooting: At 2:46 p.m. at 1639 S. 310th St., police were dispatched to a shots fired complaint. Valley Comm indicated one shot had been fired before two subjects ran away and a vehicle drove off. The responding officers collected one shell casing from the scene and placed it into evidence. The officer contacted one subject with an active warrant during the investigation and booked them into King County Juvenile Detention.
Hit and run: At 6:31 p.m. at 31204 Pacific Highway S., someone called 911 and reported a hit and run collision at the Chevron gas station. Police located the involved truck in the parking lot of Walmart. The driver related he was in a collision but could not see any damage to his truck. Officers went to Chevron and determined the structure covering the gas pumps was damaged by the man’s truck, which was corroborated by video evidence. The driver willingly went back to Chevron and provided his name and insurance information.
Theft: At 6:38 p.m. at 31855 Pacific Highway S., the victim reported that he sold his IPhone to a person he only knew as “Jason” who is approximately 16 years old on Let it Go. Jason paid the victim $700 in counterfeit bills.
Dec. 25
Firearm robbery: At 7:42 a.m. at 31204 Pacific Highway S., the subject entered a convenience store with a mask over his face, carrying a duffle bag with a rifle inside. He attempted to lock the entry doors, confronted the store clerk, showed his weapon to the clerk then requested money from the register and Lottery scratch tickets. Officers contacted the subject and took him into custody during the incident. There were no injuries.
Firearm robbery: At 6:23 p.m. at 18th Avenue South and South 288th Street, a male was robbed by two unknown males in the listed area. One of the suspects jumped out of a car and hit the victim over the head with a pistol, and attempted to drag him into the car. The victim gave over his phone, wallet and shoes and the suspects fled the area. The victim was treated on scene for minor injuries.
Dec. 23
Hit and run: At 11:36 a.m. at 32000 21st Ave. SW, an unlicensed teenage driver had just left basketball practice at Decatur High School. He was traveling too fast for conditions and collided hard into a victim vehicle at the intersection of Southwest 320th and 21st Avenue Southwest. The suspect vehicle then fled northbound about one mile away from the collision and was followed by a witness. Police located the vehicle and driver and stopped the car. The driver attempted to conceal the damage and cut himself on his hand prior to police arrival. The driver was released to his father at the scene. He was not impaired. Charges were forwarded to the King County juvenile prosecutor. The victim who was struck was transported to St. Francis.
