I am writing to express my support for 30th District Sen. Mark Miloscia. Among his many wonderful traits, Mark has been a stalwart supporter of the little guy. Unlike his opponent, he cares about the homeless, downtrodden and those dealt a low blow like me.
I was declared disabled by the state of Washington in July 2016 after a slew of medical evaluations that started earlier that year. Prior to that, I was targeted for termination by Federal Way Public Schools after I experienced a medical emergency at school. Unfortunately for me, there was white powder on my desk from a frosted donut that the school district implied was contraband. Endless investigations followed. None resulted in my termination and for 28 years my employee evaluations were always above average or excellent.
After running the investigation gauntlet by FWPS, I was officially terminated for, of all things, “theft of time.” Someone thought I had fallen asleep during my shift – I wasn’t asleep.
Since all personnel changes require board action, it was School Board Director Claire Wilson who voted for my termination. Prior to that vote, she was shown a copy of an email from my manager to the head of personnel for FWPS, asking how to get me fired from the district.
Claire was given a copy of that email, but did nothing. No follow-up questions, no attempt to contact me — nothing! When I appealed to the district under policy 4281 and 5281P, I was ignored. My termination was literally snuck in on the “consent agenda” at the next board meeting. My termination was approved by the board; right along with the electric bill, sewer bill and other re-occurring items. Just routine.
Past actions are predictors of future action. I didn’t see a caring attitude when it came to my situation with FWPS. I don’t trust Claire Wilson to do the right thing and I don’t see her as a champion for anyone but herself.
Sen. Miloscia on the other hand has been responsive to all my requests and helped me when I was in danger of losing my house during that unfortunate time.
Sen. Miloscia gets my vote. I’ve asked all my friends to vote for him and I encourage you to cast your vote to re-elect Sen. Mark Miloscia too.
