Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log:
Confused resident: At 6:01 p.m. Aug. 27 near the 2500 block of S. 284th Street, police responded to a report of suspicious activity. At the listed location, a seemingly intoxicated Pacific Islander female in her twenties entered the caller’s residence and began asking for food. She appeared disoriented and produced a credit card while asking for food. The caller directed her to a nearby Safeway and the female left without incident. The caller did not want a police response. She just wanted the incident documented for infromation.
Death in residence: At 7:18 p.m. Aug. 25 near the 1500 block of SW 320th Court, police responded to a call from a female who said she came home to her wife in bed to find she had passed away. South King Fire and Rescue arrived on scene, but did not perform life-saving actions. The deceased had known heart problems and had been taking several medications for this condition.
Strange behavior: At 8:06 p.m. Aug. 24 near the 35000 block of Enchanted Parkway South, a reporting party called to inform dispatch about a white male acting oddly in the sauna at the listed location. He was reportedly making comments about sodomy and using zip ties. He was last seen at the sauna in LA Fitness. He was described by witnesses as a white male in his 50s, with a medium build with a beard. There is no known crime at the moment and no one else has called regarding the suspect.
Car vandalism: At 6:17 p.m. Aug. 23 near the 1700 block of S. 369th Street, police responded to a vandalized vehicle. According to passersby, the vehicle had been at the listed location most of the day. The vehicle was heavily vandalized with slashed tires, broken windows, slashed seats, dents, scratches and profanity written on the trunk. The dispatched officer was unable to find the owner nearby. A card was left with the vehicle and the officer took digital photos of the car. No leads.
Harassment with gun: At 8:54 p.m. Aug. 23 near the 33000 block of 1st Place SW, officers were dispatched to the listed address to the report of a domestic dispute with a gun at Cove Apartments. One of the involved parties was arrested for felony harassment once police arrived.
Neighborly assault: At 2:51 a.m. Aug. 22 near the 29000 block of Pacific Highway S., police responded to a reporting party stating he was assaulted by his neighbor at the veteran housing at the listed address. The caller was intoxicated and uncooperative with the investigation. He reported being hit several times by the neighbor, but there were not any obvious corresponding injuries. The neighbor said the reporting party had been aggressive, pounding on the neighbor’s door and striking first, leaving him to strike back in defense. The neighbor did not have any defensive wounds. The incident seems to be related to alcohol. Police are waiting on security footage of the property.
Fraud: At 10 a.m. Aug. 22 near the 30800 block of 20th Avenue S., an employer reported they wrote a check to an employee for $40. The employee reportedly changed the amount to $400 and cashed the check. A citation was completed.
