Middle-schoolers from throughout Federal Way competed in the district track and field championships on June 7 at Memorial Stadium. Sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade boys and girls from Federal Way Public Schools’ seven middle schools took part in a variety of events, including sprint and distance runs, hurdles, relays, long jump, high jump and shot put.
Illahee Middle School won the district title for sixth- and eighth-grade boys and sixth, seventh- and eighth-grade girls. Lakota Middle School came out on top in the seventh-grade boys division.
Prelims took place on June 5.
