Beamer grad Sunitsch pitches no-hitter for Washington State University

Scotty Sunitsch, a 2014 graduate of Todd Beamer High School, recently pitched a no-hitter for Washington State University and was named National Pitcher of the Week by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, Perfect Game and College Sports Madness. He was also named the Pac-12 Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week.

In an April 8 game against the University of Oregon, Sunitsch struck out nine batters and walked two batters over nine innings in a 7-0 win. According to Pac-12.com, it was his 78th career appearance, which ties for the third most in WSU history. The game was also WSU’s first solo nine-inning no-hitter since 1976 and the 25th no-hitter in program history, according to the site.

During his senior year at Todd Beamer High School, Sunitsch was a first-team SPSL selection and SPSL All-Star and State All-Star game participant.
