The city of Federal Way, with assistance from the community, is leading the City Center Access project. The effort aims to improve access to the city center and surrounding area by studying solutions to the congestion in the vicinity of the South 320th Street corridor between state Highway 99 (Pacific Highway) and Military Road South.
The city is inviting public comment from residents who are impacted by downtown Federal Way traffic or have specific areas of interest they feel should be addressed by the study at a public meeting from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, at the Federal Way Community Center, 876 333rd St.
This project will study the current conditions, future needs and environmental impacts associated with enhancing traffic operations, safety and efficiency near the city center.
The city is doing this study in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration, Washington State Department of Transportation, Puget Sound Regional Council, Sound Transit, Pierce Transit, South King Fire & Rescue and King County.
