The following is a sample of the Federal Way Police crime blotter:

Suspect arrested: At 8:37 p.m. in the 32000 block of Pacific Highway South, an officer observed a subject walking in the area of a recent armed robbery. The suspect fit the description of one of the people involved. The suspect was identified and it was revealed he had an active warrant out of Kent. He was booked into Kent jail without incident.

Stolen airsoft gun: At 7:47 p.m. March 4 at Big 5 Sporting Goods on South 320th Street, management reported three juveniles entered the store and stole an airsoft gun. When the manager confronted them as they were leaving, one partially drew a pistol concealed in his pocket and threatened the manager. The three fled and were not located or identified.

Fight over dog: At 5:17 p.m. March 4 on 10 Court Southwest, police arrested a woman after she bit her husband on the arm during an argument and struggle over the family dog.

Car show complaints: At 5:06 p.m. March 4, officers responded to several resident complaints of traffic backing up, speeding vehicles and parking violations near Wild Waves Theme and Water Park on Enchanted Parkway. Organizers with Import Meet.com & Stance Wars Productions were having a free annual “spring fling” car show in the Wild Waves parking lot and were not prepared for the large attendance and could not support the parking operation, causing the multiple issues on public streets. Park management was called and responded immediately and restored order to the interior parking lot. Officers remained in the area, patrolling the neighborhoods and directing traffic to deter further problems.

Marijuana found: At 10:44 a.m. March 4 in the 33700 block of 31st Avenue Southwest, a person called 911 to report he had found a large bag of marijuana in the bed of his truck, and the drugs did not belong to him. Police arrive and spoke to the man, who said his truck had not been driven for three weeks. The large plastic bag was filled with marijuana buds. There was a partial address written on the bag, along with “911.” Police seized the bag and booked it into evidence. There was approximately 511 grams of marijuana in the bag. The address on the bag is a few houses south from the man’s address. No vehicles were parked at the location at the time.

Pistol surrender: At 8:24 p.m. March 3, a male came to the Federal Way Police Department on Eighth Avenue South and said he wanted to surrender his pistol as he no longer wanted it. He said he understood he could sell it or give it to someone but felt he should turn it into the police.

Counterfeit money: At 3:22 p.m. March 3 in the 31500 block of Pacific Highway South, a victim reported via phone that, upon depositing money collected during Girl Scout cookie sales, she was told by the bank that two of the $20 bills were counterfeit. She said the money was a mixture of personal and storefront sales near the JOANN Fabric and Craft Store in Federal Way. She did not know when she received the fake bills, but believes it was by a female customer at JOANN.

Bad hotel guests: At 1:42 p.m. March 3 in the 32100 block of 25th Avenue South, an officer responded to a hotel after staff reported guests in one of the rooms damaged the televisions and furniture. The officer noted the damaged TV’s and the missing headboard and the smoke in the room. The officer explained to the manager, it was a civil issue and he would need to seek civil restitution.

Shoplifter arrested: At 9:05 a.m. March 3 in the 28700 block of Military Road South, a witness called 911 to report seeing a shoplifter assault an employee at Seven-11. The suspect was located and attempted to flee from police. He was arrested and booked into SCORE Jail.

Domestic violence: At 1:39 a.m. March 3 in the 100 block of South 337th Lane, an officer responded after someone reported sounds of a fight. The officer had already responded to the location earlier in the day for a verbal fight between a boyfriend and girlfriend. The officer contacted both subjects, and determined the male had assaulted the female. He was placed into custody for domestic assault and booked into SCORE Jail.

Fireworks near school: At 2:27 p.m. March 2 in the 1700 block of Southwest 307th Street, police received several phone calls, including one from Adelaide Elementary School, about sounds of gunshots in the area. The school was placed in a partial lock down. Upon arrival, officers observed a freshly used nine-pack of fireworks in the middle of Southwest 307th Street, south of the school. The school was taken off lock down. There was no information as to who set off the fireworks.

Don’t hold drugs for friends: At 2:05 p.m. March 2 at Thomas Jefferson High School, an administrator recovered marijuana from a ninth-grader. The student admitted she was holding it for a friend, who was also contacted by the administrator. The student was warned and said she would not hold anything illegal for anyone in the future. The student was disciplined by the school, and the marijuana was seized, photographed and booked into evidence for destruction.

Repossession drama: At 11:13 a.m. March 2 in the 34800 block of Pacific Highway South, police were called for an attempted car jacking involving a fire arm. Officers contacted the reporting party and determined no gun was used, and the issue was a car repossession.

Woman found: At 6:51 a.m. March 2 in the 33000 block of First Way South, officers responded to a call by a hysterical-sounding female and located her in a parking lot near an intersection. The woman was transported to St. Francis Hospital for medical assistance. She reported she had been driven around by an unknown male throughout the night, and he had threatened her with a firearm.

Racial slurs: At 7:36 p.m. March 1 in the 2000 block of Southwest Dash Point Road, a student reported that when he was walking home from school an unknown vehicle pulled up next to him and someone whom he did not know seated in the passenger seat shouted a racial slur and pointed a black handgun toward him. The vehicle then fled.

Drunk on the bus: At 3:25 p.m. March 1 in the 31600 block of 23rd Avenue South, transit security requested police assist with an intoxicated female who refused to exit a bus. The female was detained and escorted off the bus. Three partially consumed, open bottles of wine were seen in her purse. She was arrested for unlawful bus conduct and booked into SCORE Jail after being trespassed from bus service for 90 days.

Gun stolen with vehicles: At 10:43 a.m. March 1, the owner of Louis Automotive Services in the 34100 block of Pacific Highway South reported two vehicles, including a Ram 2500 pickup, he had purchased from auction the previous week were stolen out of his parking lot over night. One of the trucks was sitting on top of a trailer, which was also stolen. The owner stated he had a .3006 rifle and five boxes of ammunition in the Ram 2500 when it was stolen.
