My wife and I have lived in the Federal Way community since 1982. We have seen a lot of changes in that span of time. Once a white-dominated community, it is now home to a beautiful wide range of diversity. That is why it disturbed us about the aggression toward the Sikh community that took place in December.

Community. Change always occurs whether it is in our personal lives or our community, and we need to embrace and not fear it. There are always bumps in the road when a community changes but by embracing it we can help make a smoother transitition.

And as for my wife and I we would like to apologize to the Sikh community, and then this summer we are going to have a block party in hopes that the amazing diversity in our neighborhood attends.
