Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log:
Robbed at gunpoint: At 12:33 a.m. Oct. 25 in the 2400 block of South 315th Lane, police responded to a report of a robbery. The victim said he may have found the suspect’s vehicle. Police determined that the victim had been robbed of money and personal items at gunpoint by two unknown males who then fled the scene. The case is under investigation.
Vehicle squatter: At 8:44 a.m. Oct. 25 in the 1200 block of South 336th Street, a caller stated that someone had damaged the passenger door lock and forced entry into a vehicle that was parked in a lot outside the caller’s business. The vehicle was filled with old clothing and food, and it appeared that someone had been living in the vehicle without permission.
Protective custody: At 3:14 p.m. Oct. 25 in a residence on Southwest Campus Drive, two children were taken into protective custody after one disclosed that she is beaten with a belt and a spatula. The child had bruises. No other information was available.
Golf cart: At 3:35 p.m. Oct. 25 in the 600 block of Southwest Campus Drive, police responded to a report of a young male who was driving in and out of traffic and along the BPA Trail in a golf cart. The boy, whose age and school were not reported, had been reprimanded for threatening to shoot his teacher. He got upset, so he ran away from school, and the school’s staff could not catch him. School security and the boy’s father searched the area. The boy had walked to Northeast Tacoma where he took an apartment’s golf cart and drove it to Federal Way. The boy was released and the golf cart was returned.
Nunchucks: At 8:13 p.m. Oct. 25 in the 32400 block of 11th Place South, police responded to a report of a male standing on the side of the road and talking to himself while swinging nunchucks. When police arrived, the man fled into a patch of blackberry bushes, then crossed the street. He took a fighting stance and lifted a large rock above his head, threatening an officer, according to police. A taser was unsuccessful and the suspect punched the officer, according to police. He was eventually subdued and arrested.
Squabble: At 8:16 a.m. Oct. 24 in the 35700 block of 16th Avenue South, police responded to a report of a fight outside the Park 16 Apartments. There was an argument among several students from Sequoyah Middle School. All participants said the argument was verbal only. A other of one student called to say she had heard from another child that an unknown adult male had come out with a baseball bat, swinging it around and making threats.
Aggressive man: At 12:52 p.m. Oct. 24 at the Commons Mall, police responded to a report of an aggressive man who was throwing rocks in the middle of the street and challenging random people to fight. The man, who said he hears voices, had also threatened to kill security staff at the mall and eat their heads after killing them.
Armed robbery: At 9:41 a.m. Oct. 24 at 28810 Military Road S., police responded to an armed robbery at Safeway. The suspect attempted to steal a cart full of groceries. When confronted by an employee, the suspect threatened her with an axe before fleeing on foot. The case is under investigation.
