Puget Sound Energy (PSE) will be at the Northshore Ace Hardware, 35419 21st Ave. SW, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. this weekend (July 9-10) as part of the "Rock the Bulb" campaign to help consumers switch to more energy efficient light bulbs in their homes.

Puget Sound Energy (PSE) will be at the Northshore Ace Hardware, 35419 21st Ave. SW, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. this weekend (July 9-10) as part of the “Rock the Bulb” campaign to help consumers switch to more energy efficient light bulbs in their homes.

Residents of Federal Way can bring up to 10 incandescent light bulbs to the store and receive up to 10 compact fluorescent lights in return to install in their homes. Participants can take part in “activity stations” to learn about ways to lower home energy use and enter to win prizes.

According to PSE, the 200,000 bulbs distributed through Rock the Bulb will save customers over $9.4 million over the life of the bulbs, and prevent more than 50.8 million pounds of greenhouse emissions. PSE says that 50.8 million pounds of emissions would be the equivalent of taking more than 4,200 cars of local roads.
