Get out of the car: At 3:37 a.m. Sept. 10 in the 600 block of South 312th Street, an officer responded to a physical altercation between an ex-boyfriend and ex-girlfriend. The male said the female would not get out of his car when he dropped her off at home. He attempted to help her out when she threatened to punch him. She punched him in the face and grabbed his shirt. In self-defense, he pushed her to the ground. The female was placed into custody for an Assault 4 DV and was booked into SCORE jail.

Don’t hit my dad: At 12:52 a.m. Sept. 10 in the 900 block of Southwest Campus Drive, an officer responded to a domestic dispute at an apartment complex. Upon arrival, the officer met with the reporting party who said his ex-girlfriend, who has an order against him, had arrived at his place to get some of her belongings. An argument started between the two. The brother of the ex-girlfriend arrived and assaulted the reporting party’s father by punching him in the face. The officer spoke with the father who said he was assaulted by a male, but refused to cooperate. There was no order violation since the protected person went to the male’s home. There were no other injuries reported.

Officer stops shoplifter: At 9:43 p.m. Sept. 9 in the 2100 block of South Commons, a loss prevention officer observed a male and female select items and pass all points of sale without making an attempt to purchase the items. As the officer attempted to stop the two suspects, the male displayed a knife and threatened to cause injury to a witness. The officer deployed his Taser successfully and the male subject was placed under custody. The female was placed into custody without incident.

Worried ex-husband: At 9:23 a.m. Sept. 9 in the 31000 block of 44th Avenue Southwest, an ex-husband called to report his ex-wife told him she was very depressed about her mom being sick and she had no one to talk to. The ex-wife said, “I will just take care of it,” then hung up the phone. He reported his ex has never been suicidal in the past, nor has mentioned it. Police attempted to contact the ex-wife, but there was no answer to the door. There was nothing suspicious from the windows of the front of the residence. Neighbors reported nothing suspicious regarding the female recently.

Don’t bite the apple: At 3:24 p.m. Sept. 8 in the 900 block of Southwest 318th Place, a reporting party came to the station to report that he was scammed. He said he was contacted by “Apple” to open up an account on his phone, and they requested that he purchase six iTunes cards and then call them back with the number of the cards. The victim went to Walmart and purchased the cards, then “Apple” called him back and the man gave the card numbers. They also requested the serial number on his phone, which he gave them. The man later realized he had been scammed. Walmart told him that with a police case number, the store would return his money.

Girlfriend assaults girlfriend: At 9:26 p.m. Sept. 8 in the 2000 block of South 327th Lane, a victim called 911 to report she had entered into a verbal argument with her girlfriend. The girlfriend left for a while before returning to her apartment. She forced her way into the victim’s apartment. She strangled the victim with both hands, then shoved her into the door, causing the victim to fall to the ground. The suspect then pulled the victim’s hair, causing her pain, then left in an unknown vehicle.

Boyfriend assaults girlfriend: At 2:05 a.m. Sept. 7 in the 130 block of South 331st Place, a female called 911 to report that her boyfriend assaulted her. It was determined the man had strangled the victim and struck her repeatedly in the ribs and head. The victim lost consciousness twice during the assault. She was transported to to the hospital for her injuries. The boyfriend was arrested and booked into SCORE jail.

Massage turns unpleasant: At 5:57 p.m. Sept. 7 in the 31500 block of Pacific Highway South, a man called to report he was assaulted by a masseuse at a massage parlor. He said he was “bear hugged” by the employee because he did not tip the employee. The employees said the masseuse did not recognize the gift card the man paid with, and were asking him to wait to verify his payment. After reviewing video surveillance, it was found the man was not bear hugged by the employee, but merely grabbed by the arm as he was attempting to leave the parlor. The man said he was not injured. He argued with officers after the video surveillance was reviewed.

Mother tries to help son: At 7:46 a.m. Sept. 7 in the 1200 block of South 336th Street, a mother got into an argument with her schizophrenic son. The son is homeless, and she let him into her home to try to help him get clean. An argument ensued and he threatened to kill her. She said she was not afraid. The son left the residence on foot. The mother chose not to have him charged, as he has a warrant already. She said she wants him to get help. An area check was conducted, but the son was not found.
