Cleanup of an April 29 fuel spill that closed Dash Point State Park will be finished today, the Washington state Department of Ecology announced.
The park, located off State Route 509 in Federal Way, has been closed since April 30 and will re-open Saturday, May 8.
The spill originated from a recently-filled 300-gallon fuel tank, owned by a private contractor, being used for a Washington State Department of Transportation project. The nearby FB Hoit bridge is being stripped and repainted, WSDOT spokesman Mike Murphy said.
