The King County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting Tuesday afternoon just outside Federal Way city limits.
About 3:35 p.m. Sept. 5, a 28-year-old male reported that he was at home in the 31000 block of 38th Avenue South near Lake Dolloff in unincorporated King County with his girlfriend when he answered a knock at the door. He opened the door and was shot in the shoulder by a male suspect, who then fled on foot, according to the sheriff’s office.
The victim has been hospitalized and has been moved to the intensive care unit, said Sgt. Cindi West. The victim and his girlfriend initially refused to cooperate with deputies or give details about the shooter. No suspects have been identified.
Deputies also discovered a “large amount of marijuana plants” at the home, according to the report.
“I would venture to say this was probably not random,” said West, noting that deputies have been unable to interview the victim because of his medical condition at this time.
