I’d like to say a big thank you to our teachers, administrators and supportive school staff. We are closing out another chapter of our lives as we say goodbye to Kilo Middle School. The staff at this school has seen both of our children through arguably the most uncomfortable years in their lives. Many staff members have had a personal and lasting impact on our children’s and our own lives. So we have personally been blessed by the staff at Kilo and not that long ago, Meredith Hill.
That being said, I have personally spent more time in the last two years at the school during school hours and seen first hand what staff must mitigate on a daily basis. The job that they face every day is very stressful. They are tasked with the job of keeping our children emotionally and physically safe, which, as I have witnessed, is a constant threat in middle school, but they must also educate our kids. I know this situation is not isolated to Kilo. I know teachers and staff everywhere are dealing with the same situations. What I am trying to say is that school staff are under-appreciated, under-recognized and under-payed. Thank you for all you do. I pray that you keep your passion and know that you are appreciated.
