A Federal Way driver was injured in a car accident on state Route 18 on Sunday.
According to Washington State Patrol, at around 2 p.m., a 55-year-old man from Federal Way was driving a 2007 Kia Sedona van westbound on state Route 18, approaching Raging River bridge, when he crossed the center line into oncoming traffic. According to the report, the man struck a 2012 Kenworth tractor towing trailer driven by a 61-year-old woman from Redmond.
Both of the vehicles came to rest in their respective lanes and both drivers were wearing their seat belts.
The man was taken to Harborview Medical Center with critical injuries. The woman was transported to Snoqualmie Valley Hospital.
A third vehicle was damaged from debris in the collision, but none of the occupants were injured.
Washington State Patrol troopers are investigating the cause of the accident. It is unknown whether drugs or alcohol played a factor in the cause.
