Mirror, tools stolen from residence: At 9:50 a.m., May 10, in the 31000 block of Eighth Avenue South, someone reported a burglary occurred at a residence overnight. The person told an officer someone forced entry into a house he is about to sell. A single footprint was found near the doorknob. The victim stated he checked inside and discovered a bathroom mirror, valued at around $200, was stolen. A worker also arrived and noticed two bags of miscellaneous tools were stolen from the garage.
Thieves get away with large amount of cash: At 11:58 a.m., May 9, in the 27000 block of Pacific Highway South, a person reported four to five people broke his vehicle window and stole the victim’s wallet, which contained $500, and another $3,000 from the center console. While giving the report, the victim said the suspects had already used his credit cards at Fred Meyer in Burien and QFC in Normandy Park.
Tow truck driver has dangerous job: At 9:30 p.m., May 8, police responded to the 1700 block of Southwest 308th Place following a report that a tow truck driver had been in an altercation with two people while attempting to tow a vehicle. During the altercation, a female tried to drive off with the tow truck, while a male approached the driver with a knife in his hand. The driver pulled out a pistol he carried concealed, and the male ran inside an apartment. Police arrested the male and female suspects and booked them into SCORE jail.
Suspect brandishes knife at bus passenger: At 3:30 p.m., May 8, at South Dash Point Road and Pacific Highway South, police responded to a report of a man brandishing a knife at another passenger on a bus. An officer spoke to a witness who said he had seen the suspect pointing a knife in the victim’s direction and saying, “Do you want some of this?” He did not see if the suspect advanced toward the victim, however. Other officers located the suspect and detained him.
Community garden damaged: At 9:09 a.m., May 8, someone reported malicious mischief occurred over the weekend at the community garden in the 34000 block of 21st Avenue Southwest. The reporting party stated, on Saturday night, plants had been pulled up, and pots, lighting and a wind chime were also destroyed. The estimated damage is about $1,000. There was no suspect information.
Juveniles arrested after pursuit: At 12:25 a.m., May 8, a victim reported his vehicle was stolen at gunpoint at his residence. Two juvenile males were located in the vehicle and apprehended after a pursuit. After receiving medical treatment, they were booked into King County Juvenile Detention.
Husband arrested after domestic violence call: At 3:54 a.m., May 7, police responded to the 34000 block of Second Lane South for a domestic violence call. The woman said her husband has been abusing her. She said when she arrived home, her husband started yelling at her. When she tried to leave, he took her keys to the vehicle and pulled her hair and punched her in the head. The victim said the man said he would kill her if she didn’t start listening, and she feared for her life. The man was arrested.
Marriage dispute turns violent: At 3:25 a.m., May 7, in the 1000 block of South 330th Street, police responded to a domestic dispute that occurred three hours earlier between a father and son. The father asked the son why he wasn’t married yet, and the son became angry and grabbed a knife from the kitchen and started hitting the dining room table with it. The son never threatened the father, and no physical altercation occurred. The son had already left by the time police arrived.
Teens involved in fight: At 11:53 a.m., May 7, in the 30000 block of 29th Avenue South, a man reported seeing his granddaughter and her friend involved in an altercation with another group of teens. The teens denied knowing what the fight was about but admitted it was mutual. Both had minor cuts and redness on their faces and refused medical aid. The grandfather reported he was also hit trying to break up the fight. He declined aid and did not want to prosecute.
Daughter strangled by mother: At 3 p.m., May 7, in the 33000 block of 18th Lane South, an officer was dispatched to a report of domestic violence. The officer observed signs a 12-year-old child had been strangled by her mother and had lacerations and was bleeding. The girl also told the officer her mother had hit her with a belt. When the mother returned, she was taken to SCORE jail for investigation of assault of a child in the second degree.
Suspect slashes wrong tire: At 8:56 a.m., May 6, in the 27000 block of 20th Place South, a person reported one of her vehicle tires had been slashed. According to the victim’s sister, a former friend had come over that morning to fight her and slashed a tire, thinking it was her vehicle, although no one witnessed the crime. The information had come from a third party to the sister. The victim had no information on the suspect.
Boyfriends don’t let girlfriends drive drunk: At 10:10 a.m., May 6, in the 2000 block of 25th Drive South, officers responded to a domestic dispute between a couple. The fight was over the boyfriend not allowing his girlfriend to drive drunk and a relationship with another person. No crime was reported.
Juveniles talk about getting guns: At 8:17 p.m., May 6, in the 28000 block of 28th Place South, a person reported a group of eight juveniles were in front of her residence making vague threats about getting guns. A male resident advised he had a prior verbal altercation with the group. The woman said the group left in two vehicles prior to police arriving.
Police find evidence of gun shots: At 1:07 a.m., May 5, officers responded to the 1000 block of South 304th Street after a report of an illegal discharge of a gun and a vehicle speeding away. Several callers reported hearing four or five gunshots, but no one saw anything. Police searched the area and found four .45 caliber shell casings.
Lost girl found: At 5:22 p.m., May 5, on Southwest 330th Street, someone reported a young girl, about 2 years old, was out in the street walking around and not wearing shoes or a shirt. The caller reported the child was with them, and they were trying to find her home. Based on previous calls, police determined the child’s house. A neighbor of the child located her and took her home.
Don’t give money to strangers: At 8 p.m., May 5, in the 2300 block of South 320th Street, a victim’s car broke down in the McDonald’s parking lot. He was approached by a man who offered to fix his vehicle for $295. The victim gave the suspect the money, and the suspect said he would go buy parts with the money but never returned.
Man exposes himself to girl: At 9:54 a.m., May 4, in the 1000 block of South 310th Street, a female student reported a man driving a red car with black racing stripes exposed himself to her as she was walking to school.
Another girl reports man exposed himself: At 7:45 p.m., May 4, in the 3000 block of 20th Avenue South, a girl reported a man driving a red Camaro with white stripes exposed himself to her as she was walking to her school bus stop that morning.
Possible marijuana grow found: At 1:04 p.m., May 4, in the 33000 block of 37th Avenue Southwest, someone reported a possible marijuana grow at the residence that was installed by a previous tenant who had moved out. An officer observed modified wiring, a grow lamp and plant residue mixed with soil that smelled like marijuana. The person was unsure if the tenant had a medical permit or license to grow marijuana.
