Federal Way area students have until May 1 to submit artwork for the ninth annual student art contest sponsored by the Federal Way Arts Commission and Federal Way Municipal Court. Entries must be based on the theme, “With Liberty and Justice for All.”

“The idea is to have students express through art what liberty and justice for all really means,” Judge Dave Larson said.

The contest is open to all students, including private and home school students, residing within the Federal Way School District. Winners will receive $100 for first place, $50 for second place and $25 for third place. Awards will be given to the top three contestants from the elementary, middle and high school levels. Entries should be mailed or delivered to the Federal Way Community Center, 876 S. 33rd St. Contest information and entry forms are available at all schools or at the Federal Way Community Center. All art submissions must be accompanied by entry forms.
