Federal Way band takes fourth place in Sound Off! competition

The Good Weird will perform at Northwest Folklife in May after winning fourth place in the 16th annual Sound Off! competition on March 11.

Held at the Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP), Jason McCue won the top prize and will play at the September 2017 Bumbershoot festival. Falon Sierra came in second and will perfrom in the Upstream Music Fest in May and electronic musician Torpoise won third and will also play at Northwest Folklife.

As a launch pad for young artists pursuing careers in music, Sound Off! offers all participants valuable exposure and performance opportunities. Other semifinalists from the competition have been selected to perform at various shows and festivals throughout the region, including Jason McCue and Falon Sierra, selected to play at Timber! Outdoor Music Festival; and The Good Weird, the Sound Off! Audience Favorite, will be featured at a KEXP community show later this year.
