At 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 30, Federal Way police officers assisted the Des Moines Police Department in a pursuit of a residential burglary suspect. Des Moines police initially responded to the 25000 block of Marine View South for a residential burglary in progress. According to a police report, the suspect got into an altercation with the victim homeowner before fleeing in a black 2002 Honda Accord. Des Moines officers pursued the suspect into Federal Way until the suspect vehicle crashed at Second Avenue Southwest, Southwest Dash Point Road.

After the collision, the suspect fled on foot. A K-9 track was attempted but was unsuccessful.
