Todd Beamer girls basketball got back on track with a 53-28 win over the Federal Way Eagles on Tuesday.
The Titans (10-2, 7-1) came into the game against Federal Way (6-5, 4-3) on a two-game losing streak after falling to Auburn Riverside and Garfield. Todd Beamer was led by senior forward Darion Brown’s 10 points, four rebounds and one steal performance. Aaliyah Alexander, Japhera McEachin and Mackenzie Bond each had eight points in the win. Federal Way was led by senior point guard Sydney Dewitt, who had 11 points and rebounds, while Hannah Togia had five points.
The Eagles were stifled by Todd Beamer’s man defense, scoring just seven points in the first half and surrendering nine turnovers. The Titans went into halftime leading 18-7 and 34-19 after three quarters.
They were surged in the second half by their bench as it produced a combined 10 points and six rebounds.
“It was a good effort tonight,” Beamer coach Corey Alexander said. “We needed this one. We did a lot of good things that we wanted to work on after the last two weeks, and it translated into success.”
Beamer heads to Enumclaw for a 7 p.m. matchup Friday against the Hornets.
