Patricia Ann Savage Siebenmark, a loving mother, grandmother and Idaho Falls educator for nearly three decades, died Jan. 9, 2013, in Federal Way, Wash.

Mrs. Siebenmark was born on April 11, 1932, in Brookfield, Mo. She attended and graduated from Laclede (Mo.) High School and went on to receive her degree from Northeast Missouri State Teachers College. She married David Wayne Siebenmark, a longtime Idaho Falls television and radio broadcaster, on April 16, 1955.

Mrs. Siebenmark instructed and shaped hundreds of 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders in 30 years as a teacher in Iowa and Idaho. She taught most of her career in Idaho Falls, including at Hawthorne, Edgemont and Linden Park elementary schools.

She was as much a teacher at home to her three children and offered them lasting lessons, including to always say please and thank you, and to turn the other cheek. She was an example, too, of dedication and hard work, helping children who sought her aid long after the three o’clock bell rang, grading schoolwork late into the evening and working in her classroom every Sunday afternoon during the school year.

Mrs. Siebenmark was a compassionate, forward-thinking person who for part of her career was active in the teacher’s union. She was an accomplished pianist and talented cook and baker, whose fudge and butterscotch haystacks were unrivaled in the Upper Snake River Valley. For many years she was active in the Order of the Eastern Star and P.E.O.

She loved dogs, Charlie Brown and the Peanuts gang, gossip magazines and Harlequin romance novels. And she had a hearty laugh that was infectious to those around her.

Mrs. Siebenmark was preceded in death by husband, David, parents Gerald and Madeline Savage, and brother, Richard Savage.

She is survived by daughters Jane (Brigham) Gardner of Reno, Nev.; Becky (Daniel) Vacanti of Federal Way, Wash.; and son, Jerry (Carri), of Wichita, Kan.; grandchildren Tiffany, David, Stephen, Nicholas, Ashley, Cal and Carli; and great-granddaughters Casie and Lahna.

Mrs. Siebenmark will be interred in Kirksville, Mo.
